We are an integrative biology lab interested in the behavioral, physiological, and eco-evolutionary mechanisms by which animals respond to anthropogenic change. We study this in cities - a ‘natural experiment’ where the many ways that humans are currently altering environments intersect, and the speed and magnitude of change is unprecedented. We also use cities as a bridge to engage communities in the scientific process, support local conservation and public health initiatives, and leverage what we learn to promote urban designs that nurture both human diversity and biodiversity.

I am currently recruiting Ph.D. students and postdocs for my lab at the University of Pittsburg starting in Fall 2027.
